"Putting Life into your Landscape"

WORK’IN WOODS PROJECT

The aim of the Work'in Woods project is to raise awareness of the value of coppiced woodlands and the activities of those who work in them.

The project will help make the link between sustainable woodland management and local products.
.

Activities and events will be undertaken within the South Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A display containing local coppice products has been set up within the shop at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
This will promote the growing need for a greater link between people and their landscape and help support local coppice and greenwood craft workers.

Training opportunities for existing coppice workers wishing to diversify and new entrants looking to sample a different career are being provided.

In February 2010 there will be both hazel hurdle and coppice management courses running within the South Downs area. For more information please use our contact page.
