Hampshire Coppice Craftsmen’s Group gave a good showing at Birdworld’s Fun Farm Week in May.

Les and Toni Brannon, Dave Lister, John, Chris and Kester Westcott and Peter Jameson all showed children some aspect of coppice work.

Toni’s charcoal drawing was very popular and messy. Les let children (try) to make rake tines, Dave demonstrated spar and hurdle making, Kester, aided by Pete showed off the pole (bungee) lathe, and John and Chris made butter knives and spoons. Pete also made a few spars.
