This is the Third year of the The National beabpole week, with events in the planning all over the country.

The aim of this event is to promote the use of Coppice products in Gardens and allotments. Many people use Bamboo to support their beans instead of using locally grown coppice products. By buying locally grown Coppice products you can both reduce your carbon foot print and help to manage local woodland.

Small Woods associassion along with its partner organisations have published a Flyer giving more information about the aims of National Bean pole week.

Also see our latest Press release "Bob Flowerdew backs call for gardeners to switch to British coppiced beanpoles" which as a big boost for the cause of the coppice worker.

Support your local woods: use coppiced hazel beanpoles to support your beans this year!

The area of coppice in the UK has fallen dramatically since the 1950s and we need to bring these woods back into management.

Hazel coppice provides valuable habitat for animals such as the dormouse, nightingales, warblers and many other less glamorous but equally important species, including the coppice worker.

Coppicing is a traditional and sustainable form of woodland management that ensures a continuous supply of useful products.

Hazel beanpoles provide an attractive and effective addition to your garden.

To help you find your local coppice worker we have produced a database of Coppice group members throughout Hampshire; although not specifically listed most will supply pea & bean sticks. look here
